Raspberry Pi Pico 2 – iPhone Lightning USB Circuit Diagram

1. Raspberry Pi Pico 2 Setup

Step 1: Disconnect the Raspberry Pi Pico 2 from the computer.

Step 2: Press and hold the BOOTSEL button.

Step 3: Connect the Raspberry Pi Pico 2 to the computer while holding the BOOTSEL button.

Step 4: Release the BOOTSEL button.

Step 5: Open the computer’s file manager and locate the Pico 2 USB drive.

Step 6: Copy the authorized .uf2 firmware file to the Pico 2 drive.

Step 7: Wait for the Pico 2 to reboot automatically after the firmware transfer.

Step 1: Place the supported iPhone into DFU mode.

Step 2: Connect the required USB lines according to the circuit diagram above.

Step 3: Verify the following connections before applying power:

Step 4: Connect the iPhone in DFU mode to the Raspberry Pi Pico 2 using the above circuit setup. The device should switch into PWN DFU mode.

Verify USB polarity and voltage levels before connecting the device. Do not short VBUS to GND.

Step 1: Connect the iPhone in PWN DFU mode.

Step 2: Download the appropriate Ramdisk for the iPhone from the authorized service-tool source and select the corresponding OS version.

Step 3: Click Boot Ramdisk. The device will boot into Ramdisk mode.

Step 4: Click Backup Passcode.

Step 5: Reset the device.

Step 6: Put the device into PWN DFU mode again using the Raspberry Pi Pico 2.

Step 1: Complete the normal device setup after restoration.

Step 2: Complete activation and verify normal device operation.
