EMMC compatibility

If EMMC / UFS IC of a device is damaged we need to change it. While EMMC / UFS changing some important points to be noted. Following are some important data about this.  Need to take new EMMC with the same compatibility (you can check compatibility in easyjtag plus or phonemicro db software or directly search google / gsmarena)

EMMC with Qualcomm CPU board:. you need to take SAMSUNG emmc beacause, for a qualcomm CPU RPMB of EMC should be clean for pairing. Only SAMSUNG EMMC can clear RPMB partition. So we need to take samsung emmc for this. first clean RPMB, then  put dump and sec and flash.

EMMC with Mediatek CPU board: for MTK cpu RPMB is not a problem, hence we can use any EMMC. just put new EMMC and program it.

UFS with Qualcomm CPU: for Qualcomm CPU, RPMB should be clean for pairing. But RPMB cleaning of a UFS IC is not possible at the moment. So here if customer no need data, we can change CPU with a brand new CPU which has RPMb counter zero, it will be paired with the UFS. for pairing with qualcomm CPU either RPMB counter inside UFS or  CPU should be clean. so one can change CPU of a Qualcomm device with a brand new one.

UFS with mediatek CPU: UFS IC with MTK chipset can be changed, because no need RPMB cleaning.
